Bio

Growing up in Dearborn County, Indiana, extended family was always important. We would often visit aunts, uncles, even take summer vacation time to visit cousins in the opposite corner of Indiana. Every June we attended family reunions, usually in Aurora, Indiana. Several times in my 20's I was Chair of the annual Ross Family Reunion committee. One of my cousins produced a family tree listing in 1959, of all the known History and the descendants of my Paternal Great Grandparents - the core of our family reunions. In 1976, I expanded this history and published it in book format as "The Ancestors and Descendants of Jasper and Elizabeth Milliken Ross of Manchester, Indiana". In December of 2010, I began to transfer all I had into Ancestry.com, and to use their tools to expand. I have now documented over 11,000 family relationships, and continue to search for verifiable roots.
I visit the Greendale Cemetery, near my childhood home whenever I get back to Indiana. I have been to River View and many other Dearborn County Cemeteries to search and photo relatives gravestones. More recently, I have made trips to other counties in Indiana and Iowa to search for the resting place of known relatives.
