Bio

I live in the greater Metro Detroit area and have had an affinity for cemeteries all my life. Decades ago when I was teaching myself photography on my Minolta SRT-101, I frequented cemeteries as my training ground. I really enjoyed the peaceful feeling and loved the combination of elements, the carved stones, mausoleums, trees, ponds, wildlife, and I am particularly fascinated by the items people leave on graves.

In high school, instead of going to football games and dances, I read existential novels and since then have been curious about the cycle of life and death.

Currently I am an avid amateur photographer and love making atmospheric photos in cemeteries, often focusing on the more neglected side of graves and websites. I am no longer active on Flickr, but you can still see some of my cemetery photos at my Flickr gallery at: https://www.flickr.com/photos/tooloose-letrek/sets/801893/
