In 1955 at the request of my maternal grandmother whose maiden name was Dorsey and had married a non-related Dorsey, I began working on family genealogy supplying information to the Dorsey Association that held their Dorsey reunions at Mossy Creek Campground, White County, Georgia. The information I gathered was later included in “The Dorsey Family” book compiled by John Tucker Dorsey. Later in 1971 after publishing my father’s memoirs I finally got into the Wade family history. Then I discovered Findagrave a year and one month ago and have been busy ever since meeting people who share the same interest and have the same reverence for the departed. A lot of my activity involves research and detective work on the Internet which I enjoy and it’s always a thrill to connect with a distant relative, or non-relative for that matter, who gives you the gift of sharing. While I concentrate on Dorseys and Wades their marriages have led to numerous other families too many to mention that I also follow.
