Descended from William Samuel Ireland and Mary Loah of Alcester Parish, Warwickshire, England. Their son Thomas and his wife Joan settled in Hempstead, Long Island, where their son Thomas was born about 1647.
I was recently surprised to discover that my ancestors lived on Long Island for several hundred years and that many traces of that history still can be found. Am interested in any information about the descendants of Thomas Ireland (1622-1668/69) and Joan Dutton (1618-?), particularly through the line leading to my great grandfather, Dr. Treadwell Lewis Ireland (1825-1914) and his wife Ella Wingate Page (1844-1925), of Greenport and later of Flatbush.
