I am the self-prescribed griot of my family. Here's a little of my journey:
• Began my family genealogy in 1977 (after seeing Roots)
• President of African American Genealogy Interest Group (AAGIG) for 3 years
• Past co-chair of Education committee of Comprehensive Genealogical Services (CGS)
• Taught ‘Computer Genealogy” as part of CGS’s genealogy workshops – 2007, 2008
• Owner & moderator of “Charlottegriots” yahoo group – dedicated to the sharing of information related to genealogy for family historians in the Charlotte area
