Bio

I enjoy searching my family ancestry. Find a Grave is an excellent resource, and saves many road trips to search cemeteries for tombstones. It is interesting to connect with distant 'cousins' and see old photos.

My ancestry can be traced back to the mid 1600s in Virginia. Family names include Tillery, Sinclair, Poe, Atkinson. The Tillerys migrated from Richmond County, Virginia to Tillery, Halifax County, North Carolina following the Revolutionary War, then back to Virginia in the 1900s seeking employment in the Hampton Roads area. Similarly the Poes were in Essex County, Virginia in the late 1600s then migrated to Chatham County, North Carolina in the 1800s, then back to Hampton VA in the 1940s.

Feel free to contact me if you have a family connection.
