I did not realize the golden opportunity of sitting at grandparents' feet listening to family tales until it was too late to ask those questions that now beg to be answered.A school friend whom I have loved since the second grade traced our lines a couple years ago and found we are cousins, of course! She is the one who introduced me to FAG and now she and I traipse the countryside each October, (she from Austin, TX and me from LA, Lower Alabama) visiting long loved and newly found relatives, combing cemeteries photographing headstones and searching out elusive documentation proving our ancestral connections.With a few exceptions, the memorials I manage are family members; if you visit a memorial please leave a note and let me know how you are related.
