I started climbing my family tree as a project in Texas History during the 1986 Sesquicentennial...and I never stopped. During the early years of my search, I corresponded with several cousins of my great-grandfather Stafford, and because of them began collecting information on multiple generations of Stafford descendants. Tracing my family trail from Texas backward through Iowa, Illinois, & Ohio, I landed in Hampshire County, Virginia (now Mineral County, West Virginia). With the help of another cousin, I identified our immigrant ancestor, his ten children, and from there began the search for all of his descendants. To date, I have over 13,000 individuals in my file, The Stafford Genealogical Project, and nearly 7000 pages of research to go with them. I am relatively new to Find A Grave, and have made it my goal to connect the graves of my extended Stafford relatives to each other. In addition to being an avid genealogist, I am a blogger, an aspiring novelist, a gospel pianist, and a pastor. I am also husband of a wonderful wife and father of two amazing little boys, the tenth generation of Stafford descendants in this country.
