I have been interested in genealogy for about 15 years. My research began out of an interest in finding information on the man I was named after, Lewis Carey Norton, the brother of my Great Grandmother, Julia Gertrude Norton Clark. In my research I found that Lewis Norton invented the first pneumatic door closure and started the LCN Door Closer Company. I traced my Norton line back to Martha's Vineyard, where they were among the first settlers. As I researched my Norton line, I began discovering many Clark ancestors dating back to Joseph and Alice (Pepper) Clark, immigrants from England who helped settle Dedham, MA a colony of Puritans who fled England around 1638. In my research I discovered that my seven times Great Grandfather Edward Clark married Hannah Adams, a cousin of John Adams. Needless-to-say, it's been gratifying to find so many ancestors and their stories. The 'Find a Grave' web site has been instrumental in helping me find information.
