Bio

A few years ago I began tracing my ancestors. For five generations they've centered in and around Williamsville, Wayne County, Allenville and Cape Girardeau, Missouri. My father was a descendant of Allen Wade Copeland and Mary C. King. My father's mother was Fannie Stephens, and her mother was Nancy C. Jones Stephens Wilson. Nancy's brother was Josephus L. Jones of Cape Girardeau who had a famous confectionary on Broadway. Nancy's dad was John Fletcher Jones, a Civil War Union veteran, and I've not been able to trace her mother- her name was Martha Wayne, but I'm not sure which one as there were several. My mother was a Lewis from Caddie Belvie Kirkendall and James Edward Lewis of Allenville. If any of these names ring a bell, please email me.

And if anyone can help me discover who Fannie's father was - the mysterious Mr. Stephens - please contact me! Fannie was born June 1890, and her mother Nancy C. Jones married Thomas A. Wilson in 1895 in Elsinore, Carter County. So somewhere between late 1889 and 1895, Mr. Stephens disappeared.
