Bio

I have been actively doing genealogical research on my family since 1996, when I sent for my great-great-grandfather's Civil War Records to Washington, D.C.

But I began my quest at the age of 14, back in 1980, when my paternal grandmother died. I was fascinated to find out that there were seven generations of my family buried in the same cemetery (Liverpool Union Cemetery) as well as over 200 distant relatives, including aunts, uncles, and cousins. I was equally intrigued to find out that the town (Liverpool, Perry Co., PA) where this cemetery is located was founded by my fourth great-granduncle.

I have found dozens of fascinating stories about my ancestors over the years, including a couple newspaper publishers. I too once owned and operated my own weekly newspaper in Southwestern Pennsylvania.

I never get bored. With each new find, it only makes me hungry for more. Doing genealogical research has opened up a whole other world for me full of wonder and amazement.
