My maternal Grandmother Gladys Hugonin Davenport left a wealth of family information when she died in 1961. I am so thankful for her interest in Family History.

In the 1990's I started working on Genealogy. At that time most information that was online was on the State and County GenWeb pages and message boards. Most of my research was done in my local Genealogy Library. Did you ever search with the Soundex for names in an index for microfilmed census records? I did--very time consuming. I also went to courthouses and searched in huge old heavy books for land and probate records which were sometimes in a basement.

However, I am loving the explosion of Genealogy information online especially-- Find A Grave. My sister has been a contributor for 3 years. I have provided the research and she has been adding and maintaining our family memorials.

Now I am going to get more involved with the memorials on line. I plan to add memorials for my husbands family, and some of his Army Buddies.

My family lines, Barttlingck, Williams ,Moore Davenport, Hugonin, Gibson & Crim

My husband's family lines, Shaffer,& Rice

My husband, Luther Shaffer served in WWII in the 70th Inf. Div. Co L. 276th Regt. In later years we attended many Reunions.

Please visit my virtual cemeteries for my husband's WWII Army buddies. There are 2 one is for those KIA-- many of them are buried in France.
