I have enjoyed photography for many years and also have a love of history. I enjoy a good drive and a long walk, so it's not unusual to find me searching cemeteries and fathoming the life and legacy of a name or names on an old headstone.

One day my niece asked about her heritage (she didn't say "heritage" but you know what I mean) and it made me wonder about all of our ancestors that came before us and their history. The land they farmed, the buildings they built, the ships they sailed, the industry they created, the things they did that made us who we are today.

I enjoy researching my ancestry and I have found a common theme among many others, the connection to our past. I have been helped by many others who have done the research before me, and have gone places I can not physically go. And we all share that same connection.
