Bio

Hi! I am retired and doing occasional genealogy research on my ancestors, primarily von Hugo, MacNeill, Cornelissen, Couperus, Barger, Dodge, Buckland, Grant, Hough, and Shockley.

If you offer corrections/updates/additional info for any memorial that I manage, please provide a source for the information, even if it's directly off the headstone (often, I am taking scads of gravesite photos, then creating the memorials and uploading the photos, and sometimes I miss some details or I have a typo -- just tell me!). Thanks!

When I suggest edits or information, I will provide the source(s). Because find-a-grave has now become a genealogy tool, I often find information on a decedent's spouse or parents, but I cannot readily find an existing memorial to link them -- maybe their graves have disappeared over the course of time, maybe they were lost at sea and do not have a marked grave, maybe (in the case of women) they remarried and have a name change. But it's helpful to list these names (and the source) in the "notes" section of a memorial as an assist to genealogists.

We're all in this together, spending hours upon hours of our personal time to remember those who've gone before us and to make Find-a-Grave the great resource that it is. It's about creating a record of the past for the future. But let's remember to be kind in the present.
