When my son Ian was young he came home from school and told me that his friend Austin said they were cousins. So we dug in to find out if Ian and Austin were related and indeed they were cousins... like 7th cousins. But that started me on my genealogy journey. I consider myself an amateur but have enjoyed getting in touch with "cousins" in other states and have even visited a few. I have always been intrigued by cemeteries, so much so that my husband and I started caring for a small pioneer cemetery in our area. In the past I have photographed stones for people I have come in contact with, so Find A Grave seemed like a great way to help others out.
