I also find it rewarding when I can restore to memory anyone who has been long forgotten and connect them with their parents, siblings, etc. and tell their stories if possible. Lawrence Kansas, where I lived for several years, will always have a special place in my heart. Much of my effort has been concentrated there. With the added help of their online cemetery database, I've been able to interpret many existing memorials in that location and create many more that have been overlooked.
