We moved to Corpus Christi, Texas from Phillipsburg, Kansas in April 1943. My Dad worked in refineries most of his life.

My sister Norma Lee Martin Trammell (18699783) was the genealogist in the family. I inherited her work when she passed away and I'm doing my best to keep it up and add to her work. I was born in Cushing, OK but grew up in Corpus Christi, TX and I go back to the Gulf Coast area often. My father is Arthur Henry Martin (153301739) and my mother is Jennie Wilhite Martin (153301890). I have a sister Lois Maxine Martin Smith.(136950543) On my mother's side I am the 3X GGranddaughter of Joseph Nail who served as Justice of the Peace during the Republic of Texas.

I'm retired from the oil field industry,(Guiberson Division of Dresser Ind.) active in my church (Farley Street Baptist Church, Waxahachie, TX) and I try to work on the family tree several times a week. I'm very fond of the "Find a Grave" site. It has been especially helpful to me and I use it on a regular basis. I "talk-it-up" every chance I get. I live in the North Texas area. I'm a member of the Auxiliary to Baylor Scott & White Hospital. Some of the names that I work on are, Martin, Wilhite, Salsman, Casey, Nail, Murr, Rountree, etc, etc

Paternal grandfather, Henry Arthur Martin (45006519) Paternal grandmother, Joanna I. Salsman (45006554) - Maternal grandfather, Charles Alexander Wilhite (153305122) Maternal grandmother, Della Casey (153305268).

(1) One family member I would love to find information on is my Uncle Cecil Martin Wilhite, born May 14, 1910, Arnett, Ellis Co. OK. date of death UNKNOWN. He disappeared probably in his teens or early 20's. He was in and out of trouble all his life. Law enforcement officials told some family members that they would close the case on him after his 75th birthday - May 14, 1985.

Some of the aliases he used are: Joseph/Joe Scott, Gene Carlton, Joseph/Joe MacFail and of course versions of his real name Martin Wilhite etc. He could have died anywhere, anytime and under any name of his choosing but I have a gut feeling that he died early in life and may have gone back to using his real name. Whatever he did in life, he is still family and we would like to know where he is buried so we can complete his memorial page.

(2) Look under my Memorials added; Robert Fechner or Memorial # 161146829. I would love to find his family members and be able to transfer to them. This child is buried in Getzendaner Park, Waxahachie, Ellis County, Texas.
