I am from the Memphis, TN area and have been researching my family genealogy for probably 35 years, but more seriously since about 2000. I have always been curious about the secrets that were never shared due to the southern etiquette in my family background. While some secrets will never be discovered, the ones that have been were so exciting to find! My family tree has branched out to include my ex-husband's family as well, (for the benefit of my children) so it is quite far reaching. Unfortunately that causes me confusion at times but I can't seem to help myself. These are the primary names that I research: Allen, Beard, Davidson, Dozier, and Holliday (many spelling variations). These are mostly in Tennessee, but also some in North Carolina.
