Growing up I spent a lot of summers and weekends with my grandmother. During those times there were regular trips to the cemetery with my great aunt's husband and my cousin. "Uncle Dick" took care of the St. Andrews Cemetery in Catasauqua, PA at that time. My cousin and I had chores getting water from the rain barrel and watering flowers on all the graves. At that time, I found the headstones to be very interesting. Many of the older Victorian Era stones had pictures on them. Sometimes it was a little creepy but as I got older I found a great appreciation in having had the experiences in the cemetery. There is so much rich history in those headstones and monuments. Also some beautiful artwork, old and the more modern styles.

My sister and I would visit old cemeteries when traveling.

So, the interest in the cemetery and all it holds remains to this day.
