We are seeking info on our great grandmother and great grandfather, the parents of Charlie Newton Bailey. Her name married name was Mary Elizabeth Bailey and his name was Floyd Edward Bailey . Little is known about her maiden name or the last name she used while married to her first husband ( who according to the folk lore died within mere weeks of the wedding ) . His last name was possibly Dillon, or that could be her original maiden name .As for Floyd he told my aunts and uncles he was raised by family with last name of Gillespie. If anyone has any information about Floyd Edward Bailey and or his wife Mary Elizabeth Bailey please contact me. On Ancestry site many have Mary in their tree linked to the WRONG parents from Kentucky. I have spoken extensively to that family and together we have reviewed their records. Likewise, on Ancestry many have Floyd in their tree linked to a Harrison Bailey as his father who was born and grew up in KY. This too has been debunked as that family has voluminous records that list their Harrison Bailey's family and he never had a son named Floyd or Edward by birth or adoption.
