I served in the military for 27 years and participated in and attended many more funerals than I care to remember.

Both sides of my family were big families and I have seen many of them come to the end of their lives and wish I had spent more time with them talking about their parents and grandparents, etc...

I recently lost my mother and happened across a memorial for my Aunt Carolyn and my Mom and became interested in the Find a Grave effort.

This also sparked a long dormant flame of interest in my family tree. I have since located some 35 members of my family's grave sites. It is very interesting to find out that some of my ancestors had been married prior to marrying the spouse that I grew up knowing. I am sharing this with my family members and maybe some of them will become interested also.
