Bio

I chose "Anam Cara" as my Profile Name because it means "soul friend" in Gaelic. I believe that contributions to Find a Grave are the work of soul friends.

There's on old tradition that says people die three deaths. The first death is when our bodies cease to function; when our hearts no longer beat. The second death comes when the body is lowered into the ground, returned to mother earth, out of sight. The third death, the most definitive death, is when there is no one left alive to remember us.

I am grateful to all the contributors who have created memorials for my relatives, and to everyone who has accepted the corrections and additions I have submitted. Accuracy is very important to me, as are the life stories of my relatives and ancestors. I delight in memorializing them, not just with dates, but with glimpses into their lives, revealing who they were, not just when they were or where they lived; although even dates and locations place them in a historical context.
