I've always had a fascination with cemeteries. What was their life story is always in the back of my mind. It got me to think about my family and their life stories.

Around 2000/2001, I started working on my genealogy. I was living in Colorado and most of my ancestors were buried on the East Coast. Putting the puzzle together long distance was a challenge. That was how I came to Find a grave. With the contribution of many volunteers, I was able to put a dent in my list of unknowns in my family history.

Fast forward 10+ years and I am back on the East Coast. Now I'm surrounded by hundreds of cemeteries with many of the headstones falling to decay and vandalism. When the weather is good and I need some solitude, I can be found in a local cemetery documenting a portion of their history for generations to come.

I put a lot of time into those I photograph and research. Memorial transfers will be granted within the guidelines of Find a grave. Photos I take are my property. I ask that you contact me if you wish to use the photo elsewhere. This simple request will keep identifiable watermarks off the photos I share.
