Bio

I became hooked on genealogy after my stepmother died and left behind a box of photographs, some 100 years old and I did not know who the people were. Curiosity arose! I also acquired a very old photo album of family and friends. My mother died last year. She had written several short stories about family legends. An editor and I compiled my mother's work and started matching pictures to people in the stories. This involved more research. We submitted the book to a publisher and are waiting for a response.

While I did travel to different states collecting information from historical societies, court houses and cemeteries my time is limited. I am a full time clinical psychologist/director of a mental health organization, registered nurse, mom of 6 children and grandmother of 18 children. We live in a rural area and my husband drives a grain truck. During harvest, he works 12 to 16 hours a day.

We bought a home built in 1898 and restoring it is similar to the investment of rearing a child, in terms of time, energy and finances. We very much enjoy our home.

I like a variety of fiction/nonfiction (mostly historical) books and biographies. Some of my favorite authors include: Sue Grafton, John Grisham, Tess Gertson, Collin Powell, Chuck Swindol, Fredrick Forsyth, Max Brand and Kristin Hannah.

I am a member of the American Psychological Association, the National Society of Adlerian Psychology, the local Lioness Club and Northside Baptist Church. I enjoy organic gardening and family. In "spare" time I am building a doll house.

Being technologically challenged, my photograph will go up when my assistant has time to teach me. Along with that, I anticipate sharing multiple photos that are appropriate to grave sites.

Over the past few years, much information was accumulated that I would like to share.
