I was raised on the West Coast, but have lived in the East since 1966, where my husband and I raised 3 daughters and currently welcome grandchildren to our lakefront home. Sisters of my maternal and paternal grandmothers were avid genealogists, a great advantage when I began my own research abt 50 years ago (with gaps when schedules were too crazy - also play violin in a symphony and worked as a corporate paralegal until last Dec). As "caretaker" for many family history materials, I am now organizing, transcribing and/or digitizing letters, narratives, photographs and other personal documents. Working with these materials and finding new ancestors and their stories make those who preceded me come alive! Ancestral surnames of greatest interest at this time are Holmes, Wright, Clayton, Bradley, Rockhill, Bockius, Smith, Heberling, Dennis, Garlick, Mendenhall, Temple and King.
