Bio

I am retired from the US Army and from the US Army Corps of Engineers. I have been interested in family history and have been researching families close to me. Even though my interest in research has been there for a long time, it has only been in the last few years that I have spent more time on it. Each day I learn more about family which keeps pushing me to do more. My Mettler line emigrated to the United States in 1876 from Crimea in the Ukraine. They settled in South Dakota initially, then begin to migrate to North Dakota, Montana, Washington, and California, at least that I can determine. If there is one thing I would have done different is to talk more with my older relatives. Instead I waited too long and they are mostly all gone now.

I thank those of you who continue your quest of family history. It helps all of us to better know our families.
