Sam E. Johnston grew up in Shreveport, LA. Upon graduating from LA Tech University in 1973 he entered the USAF after attending Officer Training School. He spent his working career in Houston as an Insurance Risk Manager before retiring in 2006. From 2006 until 2011 he lived in Costa Rica. He now resides in Houston, TX
