I was born on July 31, 1959, in Charleston, South Carolina, at Baker Hospital. My biological mother, Marjory Piggott Palmer, had to adopt me out and I my adoptive parents are John Philip Burger and Francis Annelle Gregory Burger. I have an adoptive sister, Lisa Anne Burger Foil and Christian Martin Burger, and several natural siblings, Travis Piggott, Philip Palmer, and Mary Bostick.

I am a court reporter and am soon to be married to the true love of my life, Donald Lamberton Whiteley, Jr. and we live in Goose Creek, South Carolina. I'm on Facebook and my Facebook page is currently Lori Wharton.

I love birds, horses, reading, crafts, photograph, and playing, singing and writing music. I'm a Lutheran by denomination and attend church regularly at my home church, The Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Charleston, South Carolina. I have been an organist choir director. I played the early service for The Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, was organist for St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Statesboro, Georgia, organist/choir director for St. Mark's Lutheran Church on the Isle of Palms, South Carolina, and pianist/choir director for St. James Methodist Church in Goose Creek, South Carolina.
