I was given a box at the age of 16, my Great Aunt Florence Miller's Box of Curiosities and it was filled with research, photos, books, documents, scribbling's and such. My Aunt had wanted to be a member of the DAR, her husband's family (My Great Uncle John Ditmas) were members of DAR. He adored her and would drive her wherever she desired, libraries, city halls, cemeteries and many old relatives houses to sit and talk about church, family and food (she loved to talk), she never did find that link to the DAR. I have since become a member of DAR through my ancestor Amos Briggs, but not through the Miller line she was working on (not yet).

My Mother was raised by her Aunts and Uncles, her 13th Birthday party photo has not a single child present, and her closest family in age was still 18 years her senior. If you care about someone past or present, how pure the blood bond runs, should not be a factor. If you feel passionate about a memorial I have, as long as it does not rival my own passion, ask for the transfer and you shall receive, you do not have to be related to them.

I usually try to figure out who they were, family, anything they might help them be found, their history, story's and lives lived are fascinating to me and if I made a mistake or error, I will gladly make amends, my memorials are only as good as the information I found at the time.
I own the photos I post and I own most of the original documents I post as well, 85% of the memorials I manage are related to me.
