Bio

I am a retired public school educator. I am a proud graduate of Murray State University, Murray, KY, with my B.S. (Cum Laude) and M.A. degrees, and a graduate of Northern Illinois University with my Educational Specialist Degree in 1987. I was inducted into Kappa Delta Pi, Delta Epsilon Chapter, Northern Illinois University, International Honor Society, and awarded The Christa McAuliffe Outstanding Educator Award, 1989. I was selected for inclusion in Who's Who in American Education, 1989-90 Edition. Upon retirement to North Carolina, with much time on hand and the love of research, I delved into my Granny Priddy's Bible records of SC ancestors. I visited York County, SC, to stand before my ancestors' graves. What a thrill this was!

I am our third family historian. Our first historian was Blanche Williams Priddy of Alcorn County, MS, my Beloved Great-grandmother. Our second family historian was her grandson and my Beloved uncle, Raymond Wiley Priddy of Kentucky. They formed the initial work on our Tallahatchie County, MS, and Morgan County, AL, Priddy bloodline records. I owe them much for their work...so I continue researching many lines ...I do as much as I can each day, for as long as I can... for the LOVE OF ANCESTORS... Those Willows by the Watercourses we search... on many lands in ancient books... those roads, creeks and rivers where they lived to open anew the centuries past.

"A Prayer For Genealogists," by Curtis Woods

Lord, help me dig into the past and sift the sands of time, That I might find the roots that made this family tree mine.

Lord, help me trace the ancient roads on which my fathers trod, And led them through so many lands to find our present sod.

Lord, help me find an ancient book, or dusty manuscript, That's safely hidden now away in some forgotten crypt.

Lord, let it bridge the gap that haunts my soul when I can't find, The missing link between some name that ends the same as mine.
