I'm relatively new on the genealogy scene, having started in May of 2015. I have found genealogy to be quite fascinating, and enjoyed my time thoroughly exploring my roots.

Through determination, and many hours of research, I have been privileged to trace my "Colbridge" family back multiple generations to Germantown, PA, circa 1821.

Originating with English immigrants, William and Hannah Colbridge, who settled in Pennsylvania, the Colbridge "tale" is actually that of their children, two(2) brothers, named William (1822-1892) (my 3x great grandfather), and Thomas Forrest (1826-1892).

Both brothers grew up in Germantown, married, and raised families. They served their country in war, their communities in peace, and endured personal tragedies along their journey. They were never rich, but worked hard to make a better life for themselves and their families - in short, they are part of the "American Story."

The descendants of both brother's families can still be found residing in, and around the Germantown/ Cheltenham, Pa., area to this day.
