Bio

I live in the 66206 area of Kansas City. I am in my late 60's and have been interested in family histories for over 40 years. My mother was a former Regent of the Elizabeth Benton chapter of the DAR. The oldest chapter in the state of Missouri was chartered on November 20, 1894. My passion is finding middle names which possibly reflect maternal lines. I love following the chain of first names through the generations. My main focus is on doing edits. Too disappointing on how many people don't even know the names of their great grandparents!

Always keep in mind it is a stressful time when people provide info for death certificates and that cemetery stones are not always accurate either. Those things are only what the person providing the information gives at that moment. I have seen wrong info in both death certificates and on grave stones and in marriage licenses in my own family. I dig through the census records and multiple sources before I suggest any edits so I hope I can fill in the blanks for many families and I always remember anything can be subject to changes or corrections!

On my paternal side I am tracing these families:
John ELLIOTT, 1762: Ireland to PA to Hamilton Co, OH (The Elliott House in the city of Indian Hill in Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio is listed on National Register of Historic Places) to Kansas City, MO.
Mary MILLER, Susanna DAWSON, Samuel ROBINSON
Maria Stinson Robinson Elliott purchased the family plot Section F Lot 358 on Jan 24, 1867 at Evergreen Cemetery in Miamiville, OH.
My Elliott line is:
John 1762, Mary Miller 1767. Evergreen.
Simon 1788, Maria Stinson Robinson 1799. Evergreen.
John 1822, Susanna Dawson 1825. Evergreen
Arthur D. 1850, Adaline Jenifer 1865. Evergreen/Forest Hill
Arthur J. 1882, Isabel Barwick 1890. Forest Hill KCMO
Arthur K. 1922, Paneli Margaret Pryor 1926. Forest Hill

My can't locate list:
1. Arvilla Pierce PRYOR was born about 1843 in Ross Co., Ohio. Parents: Wesley Nelson PRYOR and Rachel DEWITT.
Spouse 1: Louis C. "Tobe" KITCHEN. Louis "Tobe" KITCHEN and Arvilla Pierce PRYOR were married on 12 Jan 1871 in Daviess Co., Missouri. Can't find him or his family either. His father has been listed as Dan Kitchen. They might be in Buchanan Co MO near Saxton, where there is a KITCHEN Cemetery.

Spouse 2: Richard M. LEEK. Richard M. LEEK and Arvilla Pierce PRYOR were married on 21 Dec 1873 in Holt Co., Missouri. Don't know where or last name used for burial. She is most likely in MO. This info is from Green Hills Pioneers of MO (most of my family entries have wrong info in this website). His wife was a Pryor but maybe not her. He is listed as widower in 1880 Phelps Co MO census and not buried with any spouses just his children and she is in 1880 Daviess Co MO census as Arvilla Kitchen Widow 37 with adopted daughter Elizabeth Wells 10 born in MO. This is why I am not convinced it was her in the marriage license and might be a TN Pryor of Arbella and not Arvilla.

3. William Brunell Elliott born July 15, 1885 in Cincinnati OH son of my gr-gf Arthur D. Elliott and Adaline Jenifer Elliott. Died Oct 3, 1886 might be buried in East Madisonville, OH. then Arthur and Adaline moved to Kansas City in 1890.

4. Achsah Hayford Elliott b. June 6, 1828 Mt Pisgah, OH died Aug 9, 1874 Yellow Springs, OH. Husband Arthur Elliott buried in Glen Forest Cemetery in Yellow Springs OH. Not sure if she is buried with him and no one marked the grave. Might be buried with Hayford relatives in TX and their daughter Lizzie.
