I am a Caretaker/Security Guard at Rookwood and have been in that role for 35 years. I mostly work after hours so photos may be taken at night. I will try my best to come in early in my own time to get daylight photos.
Please remember that there are many, many unmarked Graves in Rookwood and during the depression times of the late 1800's and early 1900's many families simply could not afford to erect a monument. Even in these current times it's very expensive to erect a memorial. If I take a photo and all you see is grass or torch shining on grass it means that the Grave is unmarked but the exact location is indicated in the photo. The Cemetery maps accurately number out the plots so it's fairly easy to identify the requested locations. I will still take a photo of an unmarked grave and add a GPS location.
If you need a photo of a niche at the Rookwood Crematorium please ring or email the Crematorium office to obtain a location. The gardens and niche walls are extensive and it's like finding a needle in a haystack without the exact location.
