Born in Woodstock, MD on 1 March 1941. Received BES in Industrial Engineering from John's Hopkin's University in May 1963. Commissioned as a 2nd Lieutent in the US Army in July 1963. Served in the Ordnance Corps for 28 years serving in both command and staff positions in Germany, CONUS, Hawaii & Vietnam. Retired as a Colonel in September 1991.Folowing 13 years of employment with Management Technologies Associated, a small business Defense/Aeospace firm, retired as Vice President for Operations in January 2005. Married Marianne Hofmann, resident of Kitzingen, Germany, on 24 July1965. Have two married daughters, Valerie Anne and Stephanie Marie, one granddaughter and three grandsons. Currently resides in Madison, AL
