Not long after my father William Borders retired from his military career as a fighter pilot, he became an avid genealogist. I introduced him to the use of computers to help him in his research, and also accompanied him on several of his "road trips" to gather details on our ancestors. My father published his findings in a 527 page book titled THE BORDERS FAMILIES, and he also established a Borders DNA database to help verify family relationships.

I followed my father's footsteps by entering the military and becoming a pilot. My military tours of duty include one flying Medical Evacuation helicopters in the Vietnam War, and one as an Operations Research Analyst in the Pentagon. Armed with a doctorate degree, I entered the world of Academia after my military career, focusing on teaching, research, and consulting. I recently retired from that busy world.

I inherited my father's genealogy files and have become increasingly interested in online genealogy research, especially with my BORDERS - KING - SEVIER ancestors. In my Find A Grave contributions I enjoy filling in details on existing memorials and adding new ones to establish family linkages. As I discover new historical documents I also seek to update what has already been put online. Since many Find A Grave volunteers are busy managing hundreds or thousands of memorials, I will sometimes ask you to transfer family memorials to me in order to facilitate these updates.
