I currently live in Montgomery County, TX, but grew up in Matagorda County, Tx.
My family arrived in Matagorda County in 1844 and 1845. I continue to do research on Matagorda County, TX. My great, great, grandfather was Ferdinand Schultz, who immigrated from Prussia with his parents aboard the Barque Neptune and arrived in Galveston, Texas in December 1845. He and his family settled in Matagorda County, Texas.
Another great, great grandfather was Arron Pybus from England, who married Elizabeth Baxter Hughson, the sister of William P. Baxter. Aaron and Elizabeth lived at Well Point, Texas.
I continue to look for information regarding the Schultz (now Shoultz), Pybus, Scott and Rich (from Georgia) families.
