Here stood the log barn erected in 1803 by White Brown and used from 1803 until 1818 as teh summer meeting place of the Methodist Society which later became Browns Chapel Methodist Church.
The plaque is on the Mill stone that was ued from 1815-til about 1870 in the Brown Grist Mill. The Millstone is from France. The Brown Grist Mill at Brownstown was near Deer Creek dirrectly east of this spot.
Millstone and plaque now on private property, beside the road that leads to Browns Chapel Church and Cemetery. You can see the creek from this spot. The township is called Deer Creek, Ross County, Ohio; near the little burg of Clarksburg.
