Daughter of the late James R. and Isabell H. Belt.

After 46 years of dedicated service, she retired from Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity at the University of Virginia. "Buzz", as she was affectionately known to the brothers of Phi Kappa Psi was loved and cherished by them all. She was a member of Union Run Baptist Church. Dorothy enjoyed shopping, traveling and family gatherings.

She leaves to cherish her memories two sons, Arthur E. Harris and Melvin F. Harris; five daughters, Edna M. Harris, Audrey M. Harris, Tajuanna L. Harris, and Tonya E. Armstrong, all of Charlottesville, Virginia, and Mercele A. Collins of Hyattsville Maryland; one brother, Robert Thurston of Barboursville, Virginia; ten grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren; a devoted cousin, June H. Banks; one niece, one nephew, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at Union Run Baptist Church in Shadwell, Virginia, with the Reverend Doyle Thomas officiating. J. F. Bell Funeral Home, Charlottesville, VA.
