Scott Edwards, 26, of Astoria, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012, in Astoria.

He was born Dec. 18, 1985, in Astoria, to Jack L. and Jeanne M. (Thompson) Edwards. His parents survive, residing in Astoria.

Raised in Astoria, he attended grade school at Lewis & Clark Consolidated School District. He graduated from high school at the Oregon Youth Challenge Program in Bend in 2004.

After high school, Mr. Edwards worked on the restoration of the 14th Street Pilot Station and dock. He then worked in home construction for a period of time. He worked on a dredge in Alaska, and as a deckhand for Foss.

He was baptized in, and attended the Hilltop Church of the Nazarene. He was a member of the Future Farmers of America and 4-H, raising pigs and beef cattle.

Family members said he was very creative, and enjoyed drawing and working with metal and wood. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, restoring vintage cars and riding four-wheelers.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Jenessa Edwards and her fiance, Jonas Boggs, of Astoria; a nephew, Lyndel Boggs of Astoria; his grandparents, Dave and Barbara Thompson of Astoria; several uncles and aunts, Jim and Sharon Lawlis, Wes Holthusen and his companion, Michelle Carsner, and Darrell and Jodie Holthusen, all of Astoria, Don and Alice Thompson of Svensen, Mike and Suzi Balensifer of Warrenton, Steve and Kathi Dobbins of Richfield, Wash., and Chris and Lisa Holthusen of Hammond; and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by three grandparents, Clyde and Margaret Edwards and Colleen Thompson; an uncle, John Edwards; and an aunt, Sonya Edwards.
