Son of Frank Lee and Elizabeth Cash Blue. Robert married (1) Mary Bracy, and (2) Mary Kathryn Kirby.

MARION - Robert C. Blue, formerly of Goldsboro, NC, died at his home in Marion, SC on Tuesday, September 22, 2009. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 24, 2009 at Rose Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Blue, son of Frank Lee and Elizabeth Cash Blue, was born December 1, 1920, in Fairmont, NC. He graduated from Fairmont High School and the University of North Carolina. He served with the US Army Air Force in World War II, where he participated in five battle campaigns in the Pacific Theatre. He was employed with Williams, Urquhart & Ficklen, Certified Public Accountants in Raleigh, NC from January 1946 to July 1955, at which time he took the position of Chief Financial Officer with T. A. Loving Construction Company in Goldsboro, NC. He held that position until his retirement in 1993. He was a former member of the Hiram Masonic Lodge #40, Raleigh, NC; New Hanover County Shrine Club, Wilmington, NC; Goldsboro, NC Rotary Club; Goldsboro Elks BPOE Lodge #139; NC Association of Certified Public Accountants; the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants; and the Marion, SC Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are his daughter, Roberta Blue Pense and her husband, Guy of Reston VA; a granddaughter, Julia Pense, of Reston, VA; step-daughter, Kathy Snipes and her husband, Wendell of Marion, SC; a stepson, Randy McIntosh and his wife, Cindy of Marion, SC; six step grandchildren, and 7 step great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Mary Bullock Bracy Blue, of Rowland, NC; his second wife, Kathryn Kirby Blue, of Marion, SC; two brothers, Frank L. Blue, Jr. of Port Charlotte, Fl and George K. Blue of Union, SC; and a sister, Frances Blue Nelson of San Francisco, CA.
