Calling hours will be held at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Watertown on Wednesday, December 19, from 10AM to noon with the funeral service following at 12:30PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in North Watertown Cemetery.
Mrs. Busto was born in Gouverneur on March 15, 1925, daughter of Robert and Elizabeth McManus Macaulay. She graduated from Morristown High School and had attended hairdressing school in Watertown. She married Manuel J. "Chub" Busto on January 25, 1947 and he died on July 25, 1990.
Ellen was a homemaker and a foster mother. She had also worked for Cheeseborough Ponds, which became Faichneys, in Watertown. She enjoyed gardening, ceramics, crocheting, sewing, and especially her dog, Charlie.
She is survived by her son, Daniel Busto, Watertown; her three daughters, Bonnie and Mark Hall, E.Amherst,, Marlene and David Kirch, Pillar Point, and Susan Dorame, Watertown; son-in-law, Art Thompson, Oswego; thirteen grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and one great great grandson; her three sisters, Edna Gates, Hailsboro, Jessie Smithers, Watertown, and Annabette and Leland Brown, Rochester; brother-in-law, Phillip Parish, FL; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Patricia Thompson, September 23, 2000, her two brothers, Edward and George Macaulay, her sister, Aleta Parish, and her brother-in-law, Clifford Gates.
