William Cecil Hoppel, 69, 4517 S. Wigger St., died Sunday in a nursing home. He had been ill for six weeks.
Born in Cass County, he came to this community as a child. A machinist with Paranite Wire and Cable Corp., Jonesboro plant, Mr. Hoppel retired three years ago. He was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy, Gas City.
Surviving are the widow, Hazel; two sons, Melvin L., Rossville, Ga., and E. Elmas, White Plains, N. Y.; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2001 S. Washington St., with the Rev. Samuel Brackette, officiating. Burial was made in Grant Memorial Park.
