A native of an Italian family but an American citizen, he served in the United States Army stationed in Germany during the years of military occupation. Tony Lip began his film career in 1970, when he debuted in the movie "The Godfather" by interpreting a secondary role. He has appeared in several successful films including "Raging Bull" and "Goodfellas" by Martin Scorsese, "Year of the Dragon" by Michael Cimino,"Lock Up," "Donnie Brasco" and in the television series "Law & Order." The 2018 Academy Award winning film "Green Book" is based on events in his life.
