Country Blues, Gospel, and Folk Musician. At a young she learned to play the guitar and by age nine was playing on a regular basis at her local church. In the late 1960's, her talent captured the attention of folklorist George Mitchell, who encouraged her to make regular public appearances. She performed at the Chattahoochee Folk Festival and had great success, laying the groundwork for numerous tours in the United States and abroad, including notable appearances at the Blues to Bop Festival in Switzerland and the Alabama Folk Festival in Montgomery. She went on to record her debut album "Fool Me Good", which was nominated for two Blues Music Awards in the categories of 'Acoustic Blues Album of the Year' and 'Best New Artist Debut'. In 2006 she was nominated for a similar award for 'Traditional Blues Female Artist of the Year'. She recorded two more albums titled "The Truth" and "My Name Is Precious". She had such hit songs as "Morning Train", "If I Could Hear My Mother Pray", "Broke And Ain't Got A Dime", "Dark Angel", and "Last Time" among others. She passed away at age 71 from complications of diabetes and congestive heart failure.
