James L. Dee, 71
YORKTOWN - James L. Dee, 71, went to be with the Lord, Thursday morning, March 8, 2007, at his residence following an extended illness.
He was born, May 10, 1935, in Muncie the son of James I. and Nora E. (Williams) Dee, graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1953, attended Ball State University, and served in the U.S. Marine Corp.
Mr. Dee was employed at the Marsh Supermarkets Warehouse for 27 years prior to his retirement in 1993 and previously had worked at Brady Air Control.
Mr. Dee was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Teamsters Union Local #135, The National Rifle Association, and American Legion Post #19. He was also active in Yorktown Athletics Boosters.
Jim was a loving husband to his wife of 45 years, Hatsuko; also surviving are three sons, James L. (Jimmy) Dee, Jr., Yorktown, John A. Dee (wife-Carla), McComb, OH, and Joseph P. Dee (wife-Kristen), Berne; and five grandchildren, Andrew, Brenna, Aaron, Anna, and Isaac Dee.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Mary Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 12, 2007.
Entombment will follow in Elm Ridge Mausoleum with military rites by Veterans of Delaware County.
Friends may call at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel from 2 until 4 p.m. on Sunday with a scripture service at 4:00 p.m.
