H. Bartels, living southwest of Loganville, was killed Thursday of last week by an accident. He and his wife had loaded cornstalks on a wagon and Mrs. Bartel went cross-lots to the house while he was to drive around. Shortly after, he was found frightfully mangled. It seems that a pole at the front of the wagon broke while he was leaning on it and he fell forward between the horses, head downward and his feet catching in the harness. The horses ran away, dragging him over the ground with the result stated.
