August lived his entire life in Oswego area where he led a simple life as a farmer (Retired from full-time farming in 1979.), loving husband and father. He attended the rural one room Jericho School in Oswego. He was a notable Championship Plowman at the Wheatland and Big Rock Plowing Matches. He was active in horse drawn plowing demonstrations for many years prior to his heart attack in 1993. He had also worked for Phiesters Chemical (Agrinetics) until his retirement in 1985.
He was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Oswego, IL.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy J. nee VanEtten (Whom he married on August 24, 1940 in Oswego, IL); a daughter, Susan Joyce (Charles) Feltes of Osseo, WI; three sons, James Lee Seidelman of West Hollywood, CA, John August (Lois) Seidelman of Naperville, IL, Joey Michael (Barbara) Seidelman of Aurora, IL; eight grandchildren, John (Michele) Turner of Geoffstown, NH, Michelle (Kent) Sager of Portage, IN, Lisa (Kevin) Jobe of Whitehall, WI, Joey (Patty) Seidelman, Jr. of Aurora, IL. Jennifer (Terry) Estenson of Whitehall, WI, Katherine Feltes, Victor Feltes and Laura Feltes all of Osseo WI; 14 great-grandchildren, Dylan and Brandon Turner, Daniel and LeeAnn Sager, Brittany, Jason, Cassandra, Alicia and Kevin Jobe, Jr., Ashley, Kayla, Barbara, Rebecca and Joey Seidelman III; three sisters, Minnie Reynolds of Aurora, IL; Lydia Carpenter of Yorkville, IL, Marie (LeRoy) Calkins of Montgomery, IL; a brother, Harold (Ardis) Seidelman of Aurora, IL and several nieces, nephews and his best friend Ed Hohmann of Montgomery, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Elsie Wilson; two brothers, Leonard and Fred Seidelman. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 16, 1999 at 11:00am at the McKEOWN-DUNN FUNERAL HOME, LTD. in Oswego, IL with Rev. Fred C. Eisenhut officiating.Burial will take place at Pearce Cemetery in Oswego, IL. Visitation will be today, February 15, 1999 4:00 to 7:00pm at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the Church of the Good Shepherd or the Visiting Nurses Association of Fox Valley.
