Roman Catholic Church Figure. Born in Ulm, Germany. He became a mercenary for the army of Naples in 1432. He became disillusioned with military life and left to become a Dominican lay brother in Bologna in 1441. He spent most of the next 50 years creating stained glass windows. He was beatified in 1825, by Pope Leo XII, and is the patron of glass painters.
