Author. He was a 20th-century Paraguayan author, who was forced into exile during Alfredo Stroessner's Dictatorship, moving to Argentina and later to France and Spain, where he obtained nationality. Writing in the Spanish language, he is best remembered for his books "Yo, el Supremo," "Hijo del Hombre," "El Naranjal Ardiente," "El Baldío" and "Madera Quemada." He received the Premio Cervantes award in 1989. He returned to Paraguay in 1996.
