Russell A. "Russ" Wirth, 76, of Hellertown died Saturday, Nov. 27, in St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill. He was the husband of Ruth (Campbell) Wirth. They were married for 51 years in May.
He worked in the maintenance department of the coke works at the Bethlehem Steel Corp. for more than 40 years before retiring as a general foreman in 1982.
Born in Lower Saucon Township, he was a son of the late Fred D. and Sarah M. (Wohlbach) Wirth.
He was a life member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Bethlehem.
He was a Navy Veteran of World War II, having served in the Pacific.
He was a member of Edward H. Ackerman American Legion Post 397, Hellertown, and the Coke Works Leisure Club and MORA Club, both of Bethlehem. He was a charter member of the South-Eastern Volunteer Fire Company, Lower Saucon Township.
Survivors: Wife; daughters, Dawn W., wife of Randall Peters of Allentown, Jane L., wife of Jeffrey R. Haring of Quakertown, and Lynn A. of Minneapolis, Minn., and two grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Gale.
Services: 1 p.m. Wednesday in the church. Call 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, Pearson Funeral Home, 1901 Linden St., Bethlehem.
